Uses: Dimethyl sulfate is a methylating agent widely used in organic synthesis such as pesticides, dyes, medicines, and perfume industries. Used to make methyl ester, methyl ether, methylamine, etc. It is a raw material for dimethyl sulfoxide, caffeine, codeine, methamphetamine, aminopyridine, trimethoprim, vanillin, and the pesticide acephate.
