Thermal crosslinking typically involves adding 1-3% TAIC with 0.2-1% peroxide, while radiation crosslinking can use 0.5-2% TAIC, often without needing a peroxide. The resulting crosslinked materials exhibit dramatically improved heat resistance, flame retardancy, solvent resistance, and mechanical strength. This is especially beneficial for products like cross-linked cables, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes, and various molded parts that require enhanced durability and performance under stress.

The homopolymer of TAIC itself, polytriallyl isocyanurate, is a testament to its inherent capabilities. This homopolymer is a transparent, hard, heat-resistant resin with excellent electrical insulation properties.
