Storage of MOPA requires care. While carbon steel is generally suitable for storage tanks, prolonged exposure can increase product color. For color preservation, stainless steel or aluminum is recommended. Copper, zinc, lead, and their alloys should be avoided as they can be attacked by the amine, leading to product discoloration. MOPA is also hygroscopic and can absorb moisture from the air, which may necessitate the use of a dry nitrogen blanket in storage tanks to maintain product quality.
