Thrombotic events, such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE), are another area of concern, though large-scale studies in many contexts, including trauma and obstetrics, have generally not shown an increased risk. Likewise, in specific procedures like nephrolithotomy in patients with a solitary kidney, TXA use has been linked to clot obstruction and anuria, necessitating caution.

While common side effects like gastrointestinal upset can occur, they are typically mild. The potential for more serious adverse events underscores the importance of administering TXA under medical supervision.
