GMP-2Na Hygroscopicity Control in High-Moisture Feed Premixes
In the formulation of high-moisture animal feed premixes, the hygroscopic nature of certain additives like Guanosine 5'-Monophosphate Disodium Salt (GMP-2Na) presents a critical challenge for supply chain directors and feed formulators. As a flavor enhancer and nucleotide ingredient, GMP-2Na—also known as Sodium Guanylate or Disodium GMP—is prized for its synergistic effect with monosodium glutamate, but its affinity for water demands rigorous management from production to point of use. This article examines the moisture-related behaviors of GMP-2Na, drawing on field experience and practical strategies to maintain product integrity, flowability, and nutritional value in demanding environments.
