Product Technical Details

Product Overview

Bisphenol A Bis(Diphenyl Phosphate), commonly known as BDP, represents a class of advanced oligomeric phosphate flame retardants engineered for high-performance polymer applications. As a halogen-free solution, it addresses the growing industrial demand for environmentally compliant materials without sacrificing thermal stability or mechanical integrity. This product is specifically formulated to withstand the rigorous processing temperatures associated with engineering resins, making it an ideal choice for manufacturers seeking reliable fire safety performance.

Our supply ensures consistent quality with strict control over impurities such as TPP and phenol content, guaranteeing optimal performance in downstream compounding. The liquid form factor facilitates easy handling and uniform dispersion within polymer matrices, ensuring homogeneous flame retardant distribution throughout the final product.

Key Performance Benefits

  • Exceptional thermal stability suitable for high-temperature processing environments.
  • Low volatility minimizes loss during extrusion and molding, reducing equipment fouling.
  • Enhances heat distortion temperature while maintaining flexibility in the final polymer.
  • Improves melt flow characteristics, aiding in the production of thin-walled components.
  • Halogen-free composition supports compliance with global environmental and safety regulations.
  • Low migration properties ensure long-term durability and surface quality of finished goods.

Industrial Applications

This flame retardant is extensively used in engineering thermoplastics, particularly where high flow and thermal resistance are critical. Primary applications include Polycarbonate/Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (PC/ABS) alloys and Modified Polyphenylene Oxide (MPPO). It is also effective in flame-retardant PVC, cellulose resins, synthetic rubber, and epoxy systems. Beyond flame retardancy, BDP functions as a processing aid to improve melt flow in ABS and HIPS when added at lower concentrations (1-3 phr). For standard flame retardancy, usage levels typically range from 8 to 15 phr depending on the specific resin formulation and required fire rating.

Storage and Handling

To maintain product integrity, store in a dry, ventilated warehouse away from direct sunlight and heat sources. The material should be kept sealed to prevent moisture absorption. As a non-dangerous good, it facilitates safer logistics and storage compared to hazardous alternatives. Always refer to the provided Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for detailed handling instructions.
