FTIR spectroscopy works by measuring the absorption of infrared light by a sample, which causes molecular vibrations. This spectroscopic evidence provides critical confirmation of DAMP's adsorption mechanism and its interaction with the copper substrate. It supports the findings from other analytical methods, such as SEM EDX analysis of corrosion inhibitor, and reinforces our understanding of how organophosphorus compounds function to protect metals.
